An ad hoc Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) comprised of professionals familiar with Virginia agriculture, was reestablished in 2020 to provide guidance on the technical aspects of developing an appropriate methodology for the estimation of use-values for agricultural and horticultural uses.

The committee is comprised of a diverse set of representatives within the Commonwealth’s agricultural industry. Members of the TAC currently include representatives from: 

• Virginia Tech Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics 
• Agricultural Industry
• Local Tax Assessing Offices
• Virginia Cooperative Extension
• Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services 
• Virginia Department of Forestry 
• Virginia Farm Bureau
